It’s been a tough week in the Whittlesea-Clark household.
One of our cats, didn’t come down for dinner on Wednesday, and hasn’t been seen since.
She is a self-imposed indoor cat since she was hit by a car almost exactly 5 years ago to the week. Maybe there’s something about the change of the seasons.
The accident left her hours from death, pelvis cracked and pressing on a major nerve, leaving her paralysed and unable to return home. Someone found her just in time, and we got her to a specialist in the New Forest. They reconstructed her pelvis, but the top half of a rear femur was too damaged from the impact and had to be removed.
This naturally, after she had recovered, left her hesitant of the outdoors, and with reduced mobility due to the missing bone.
She was free to come and go; just like our other 3 cats can.
Fluffy is such a sweet girl, and I hope she is found.

Today I leafleted the local area (yes, I got the date wrong), asking people to check sheds and garages. It’s hard to know if it’s too early, because its only been 4 days, but she has never skipped a meal, let alone 8. Her inability to scale walls like other cats should have in theory limited how far she could have wandered.
It’s getting under 10° at night.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that she’s still out there; maybe gorging herself on a chicken she stole from a windowsill.
